Photographing this project over the course of a year was enjoyable though daunting work, made possible by the participation and assistance of the folks at Galt airport.

I call out by name . . .

• The "Medici" of Galt airport: Claude Sonday, Jim Martin, Doug Bartlett, Bill Cherwin, Dave Monroe and Gerry Molidor. Where will you find pilots like these who have earned the wealth and developed the skill necessary to fly such wonderful planes with the enthusiasm that permits these great photographs?
• Michael Stanard, who with Ivan Djurin, created this incredible outdoor studio, and Joeleen Stanard who was always willing to set lights, direct "actors", or even pose herself. If you spend a day at Galt, you will surely meet Joeleen.
• The linemen of Galt: Mike Lobaito, Rafael Gonzales, Kevin Auld and Kevin Smirz who unfailingly assisted with any shot, or appeared in those requiring a "foreground figure" to balance the composition.
• Jeff Hill Sr., an excellent writer and editor who works behind the scenes. He kick started this project and was instrumental in its acceptance by the EAA for their website gallery.
• The staff of the College of Lake County where this work was produced and Jon Bruno for his assistance with digital printing.

. . . and all the pilots, family, friends and clients of Galt airport who put up with the over-eager guy in the photographer's vest who wheedled them to move their planes closer to the FBO, or crawl under a wing, or stay an hour past the time I’d promised we’d be done. We've secured these moments in time to be enjoyed now and by those who will next inhabit and enliven this patch of heaven in Greenwood, IL — Galt airport.
